The proposed research will aid in the development and pilot testing of a measurement tool for assessing echolalia, the repetition of others' utterances or previously heard phrases, in autistic children. Such a tool would aid clinicians in the identification of echolalia, allowing for standardized assessment and further research on intervention strategies.
