About Isaac Suarez Flint
My research surrounds transgender history and archiving in New Mexico. I use local social movement archives, transnational transgender archival material, and medical archives to speculate and piece together largely archivally absent histories of transness in New Mexico. Existing scholarship on LGBTQ+ history in New Mexico centers the narratives of white, out-of-state transplants—my research interrupts this by centering the demands, lived experiences, and material conditions of New Mexico’s trans working class.
