Project: Does non-average height make it harder to estimate sex using bony measurements?

About Olivia Cole

Anthropologists use measurements to estimate the sex of unidentified skeletons in forensic and archeological contexts because males tend to have larger body sizes. However, there is little research on how these measurements perform when used on individuals who are very tall or very short for their sex. My project seeks to expand on preliminary data that indicates these measurements may be failing to properly estimate the sex of tall females and short males."
