About Wayne Merle Trott

As a lifelong resident of New Mexico and three-time alumnus of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Wayne’s dedication to his home state is only matched by his dedication to his research. While working on his dissertation at Los Alamos National Laboratories, his passion for carrying out experimental studies was ignited. The knowledge and skills he gained through this experience launched a 32-year career at Sandia National Laboratories, where he was able to carry out a variety of interdisciplinary studies involving chemistry, optics, and laser applications. In an effort to ensure that others are able to have similarly rewarding career paths, Wayne and his wife, Maryann, created the Wayne M. Trott Chemistry Scholarship which supports graduate students in the field of Physical Chemistry.
