About Jacque Kocer

Jacque was the recipient of a 2021-22 Dissertation Fellowship by The American Association of University Women (AAUW) for her research that examines the history of the Gallina people who occupied the highlands northeast of Chaco Canyon in A.D. 1100-1300. Her passion has also resulted in her incorporating The Gallina Research Institute for Indigenous Technology (GRIIT). As a nonprofit for Native American youth and college students, this Indigenous-managed archaeological research and training program promotes Indigenous sovereignty over cultural resources while preserving New Mexico’s vast heritage. As the CEO of GRIIT, Jacque is also working to fund collaborative projects that are geared towards Native women and girls.
