Elizabeth Secor is a junior at the University of New Mexico majoring in Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in multimedia journalism and a minor in professional writing. She is the head editor for the Department of Communication & Journalism's award-winning student-run digital publication, the New Mexico News Port, and a freelance reporter for the Daily Lobo. Elizabeth is also one of 19 students in the nation selected to join The New York Times Corps, a mentorship program through The New York Times that acts as a talent pipeline program to offer guidance to future journalists. Elizabeth has been paired with Jason Bailey, a senior staff editor in culture at the New York Times, for the 2023-2024 academic year.
