As a Spring 2023 ASSURE fellow, Meg placed her own lived experience as a homeschool alum within its broader context in her literature review titled, “The American Homeschool Movement: An Analytic Review of Prominent Research Topics, Leading Voices and Emerging Studies.” She won first place for her UROC180 presentation and an Honorable Mention for her Research Story, “Living Room Data: Disentangling Homeschooling Through a Sociological Lens.” Meg shares, “studying the homeschool movement, for me, is children’s rights advocacy.” After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue an interdisciplinary PhD to further alum-led research on homeschooling.
