UNM Professor Emerita receives national award for inclusion

The University of New Mexico’s distinguished reputation for contributions to the alcohol research field is adding another accolade.
Psychology and Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, and Addictions (CASAA) Distinguished Professor Emerita Dr. Barbara McCrady has just been unanimously awarded the Research Society on Alcohol’s (RSA) Dora Goldstein Diversity in the Sciences Award.
"She is recognized for her research contributions on women and alcohol use disorder, for initiating and leading transformational efforts to promote diversity within the Research Society on Alcohol, for her mentorship of people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, and for her commitment to caring for individuals who are often stigmatized and treated with prejudice,” RSA Admin Director Debra Sharp, said.
