This research investigates how treating shared speech sounds in one language (English or Spanish) affects speech intelligibility in the other language for bilingual children. Given that most speech-language pathologists are monolingual, this study aims to develop accessible intervention strategies that can be used regardless of the clinician’s language background. This work is important because it addresses a critical gap in equal care for bilingual children with speech disorders, helping ensure more effective, inclusive therapy options.
