About Juliet Knouse
Charge transfer states of Iron have been an area of study in inorganic chemistry. Numerous ligands have been synthesized and metalated to investigate these states. This study compares two tridentate ligands, terpyridine and 1,1,1-tris-(pyrid-2-yl)-ethane, and their effect on the charge transfer states of Iron (II) for various complexes. The role of symmetry of these ligands and solvent effects on these metal complexes will be investigated.
