Project: Isolated or Connected? Reassessing Gallina Settlement Clusters in Northwestern New Mexico

About Manuel Gomez

I’m honored to receive the ASSURE scholarship to support my research on the settlement patterns and architecture of the Gallina people in Northern New Mexico. Originally from Dulce, NM, I grew up on a ranch, where I learned the value of hard work and developed a deep appreciation for the land and its history. My project uses GIS, legacy site data, and possibly dendrochronology to analyze shifts of architecture styles. I’m excited to explore how archaeological data can reveal broader patterns of cultural adaptation and environmental change.
