About Sofia Doke
A long-standing problem in the field of speech language pathology is identifying risk factors in those with swallowing disorders to prevent aspiration. My role in Dr. Palmer's research is to participate in analyzing patient records while utilizing a pre-established framework in order to generate an algorithm that will more efficiently identify these predictive risk factors. This research is important because it will help professionals in this field to limit and prevent adverse medical effects occurring with their patients who have swallowing disorders.
