About Bianca Camacho
Insects and arthropods play a significant role in any garden. They contribute to nutrients in the soil, pollination, pest control, and act as a food source for other organisms in the ecosystem. Insects and arthropods can also be detrimental to a garden, causing aesthetic and structural damage to plants. What do these populations look like at the UNM Lobo Gardens? Using data collected from an iNaturalist BioBlitz over the course of the Lobo Gardens fall semester, I will quantify and categorize different species to determine what the garden ecosystem looks like at the insect level.
