About Janna Martinez

I’m both honored and excited to receive the ASSURE scholarship in support of my research towards channel structure and sediments in the Rio Grande and the impact these have on algae populations. Aquatic ecosystems are often crucial to surrounding areas and I’m excited to collect and study samples from the Rio Grande to better understand this importance. I'm looking forward to this research because I will gain new valuable experiences that I can use to help solve future environmental issues.
