College of Arts & Sciences Announces Fall 2023 Cohort of ASSURE Fellows

The College of Arts & Sciences has announced the Fall 2023 cohort for the Arts & Sciences Support for Undergraduate Research Experience (ASSURE). ASSURE is one of the many research opportunities available to students at the College thanks to UNM’s classification as a Carnegie-designated Research One (R1) Institution. The Fall cohort joins an additional 88 alumni of the fellowship in developing their research experiences through the support of their faculty mentors.
Launched in 2021, ASSURE aims to nurture undergraduate-faculty research collaborations. The program encourages students to immerse themselves in thought-provoking research expertly guided by their mentors. Participation in this program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in highly sophisticated research, gaining invaluable experiences and connections along the way.
Since its inauguration, ASSURE has mentored many incredible young scholars including two Truman Fellows and a Goldwater Scholar. With the start of the 2023/24 academic year, ASSURE is excited to welcome 20 new students into the program:
