UNM to mark 20 years of Native American Studies degree
March 16, 2024
The University of New Mexico is celebrating a major degree milestone this year, as the Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies is marking 20 years in 2024.
To commemorate this, on Tuesday, March 26, from 12 to 2 p.m., the Department of Native American Studies (NAS) will be hosting the 20th Viola F. Cordova Memorial Symposium.
This year’s theme is “Looking Back, Moving Forward: 20 Years of the Native American Studies Bachelor of Arts Degree.” The symposium will feature NAS alumni from 2011, who will join panels to discuss how they are implementing their NAS degree in their work. Attendees will also have a chance to engage with inspiring community leaders and learn more about the potential of a bachelor’s degree in NAS.
